Fences are built with both organic and inorganic materials. Organic
material contains nutrition to the lichens spores, which enables affection.
Lichen is the most difficult affection growth we have and it establishes
itself easily in joints, fissures and spaces in the fence. The lichen
roots itself very strongly to the fence. Lichen is also the most resistant
and endurable affection there is –it survives strong cold and
extreme drought for long periods of time.
Not until the fence has been meticulously cleaned will the affections
cease to occur. All old remainders, spores and affection must be sterilized
–the surface must be disinfected.
