Synthetic fibres consist fully of inorganic materials and natural fibres consists
more or less amount of organic material. The natural fibres give –besides
nutrition to the moss spores- good protection, since they are very fine-threaded
and plentiful. The moss gets a good grip.
The textile fibres bind both spores, dirt and damp –that contains
nutrients- and therefore the growth is a fact. When it has established
itself, it grows fast and is hard to treat.
Residues of moss and spores in the fibres enable the growth to constantly
recur and the only way to eliminate moss is to sterilize them. Then
the textile –the sun blind- gets disinfected and new affections
is prohibited for four years.
