Depending on the construction material, fences are either organic or inorganic.
Inorganic fences get affection of fungus later than fences produced
from organic materials because damp and other nutrients first have to
be gathered on it.
Damp and dirt are necessary for the fungus to be able grow.
Fences consist of many parts and have therefore many joints and gaps
that collect dirt, bind damp and are therefore affected by the fungus
very small spores.
The spores get everywhere and affect the material both on the inside
and on the surface. The fungus gets a good hold and the growth is seen
as severe.
Remains of fungus and spores results in that the growth continue to
recur until the surface and the material have been totally sterilized
and disinfected. Treatment with Bensaltenside gives a long lasting protection
- four years, but often for longer that that.
